Responsible for safety operations in all the scope of the train and ground operations ensuring Emergency and Recovery Plans are aligned. Inspecting workplaces to ensure compliance with safety standards are called occupational health and safety (OHS) specialists. They are also known as safety and health professionals, or OHS inspectors, in addition, making sure everything is safe and in good working order, OHS specialists suggest upgrades and alterations to equipment and systems. They conduct training sessions regarding health and safety for managers and employees.
Responsabilities:
Execute and ensure Safety plans in the workplace according to legal and company guidelines.
Enforce policies and culture of health and safety.
Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
Participate in accidents or incidents investigation to discover causes and mitigate its repetition in the future.
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
Execute Crisis Management Plans from the safety point of view in case of need.
