Division Manager
A General Trading company has an opening for a Division Manager position for its Equipment Trading Division. The Division deals in direct/indirect sales of light construction equipment through showrooms and outdoor sales. Main market is the construction industry. The company has its own competitive brands and a dedicated workshop for after sales servicing.
Summary/Objective
This position is responsible to lead and oversee the work of employees in the division. They will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of business operations as well as setting strategic goals for the future. They are expected to be well-versed in all matters business. They will be a competent leader able to provide guidance that enhances performance in a manner which Incorporates the company’s vision and culture. The goal will be to ensure the profitability of our company’s activities to drive sustainable development and long-term success as well as manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure customer satisfaction and proper branch operation. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable sales targets achievement.
Essential Functions
- Developing business management goals and objectives that tend to growth and prosperity
- Designing and implementing business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of Goals.
- Ensuring that the division has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its Activities

- Organize and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity
- Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers
- Gather, analyze and interpret external and internal data and create reports
- Assess overall company performance against objectives
- Represent the company in events, conferences etc.
- Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines
- Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, administration and sales
- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities
- Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans
- Meet goals and metrics
- Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately
- Bring out the best of division’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation
- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities
- Share knowledge with other divisions and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs
- Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly
- Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the division and company
- Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
