Quality Control Manager - Holdal
Job Purpose:
The QC Manager oversees the activities within a laboratory. He/she is in charge of operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, calculating and recording results and performing microbiological and chemical tests using proper safety precautions. His/her role also includes managing the personnel of the laboratory.
Key Responsibility Areas and Accountabilities:
Quality Control
• Approve “Finished Product” for sale after microbiological control.
• Approve or reject raw Materials, Packaging Materials for production and intermediates and finished cosmetic ingredients.
• Understand and be able to precisely follow written lab procedures, global methods, local methods and published standard or compendia sources.
• Ensure the installation qualification (IQ), operation qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) of the analytical instruments are performed.
• Devise and execute a program of routine problem resolution and continuous improvement.
Quality Testing
• Develop a laboratory sampling, sample retention and testing program for raw materials, work in process (WIP), and finished products at the facility.
• Understand and use basic aseptic technique, precautions in handling potentially infectious materials and proper disposable methods.
• Ensure that analytical methods for key release specifications (KRS) of finished products have gone through appropriate validations and the local laboratory is qualified to perform the analysis prior to manufacture the product.
Team Management:
• Set objectives for the team and train and coach them accordingly in order to reach the QC targets and have a continuous performance improvement.
• Manage effectively the team to ensure an appropriate way of communication leading to a proper workflow and better end results.
